Wildsam Field Guides: Twin Cities

Wildsam Field Guides: Twin Cities

Ten years after writing the Insiders’ Guide to the Twin Cities, I’m back in the travel guide game! I’m part of the team that put together the new Wildsam Field Guide to the Twin Cities. As described by the publisher:

Wildsam Field Guides: Twin Cities leads travelers into the most authentic experience of the Minnesota cities, working closely with a team of trusted locals. Contributors include entrepreneur Eric Dayton, chef Ann Kim, photographer Wing Young Huie, apple expert Jim Luby, comedian Lizz Winstead, among others. Topics in the handsome volume include Prince, winter sports, Juicy Lucy burgers, flour milling history, Red Wing boots, lutefisk, refugee history, the Minnesota State Fair, pond hockey, Native American traditions, hot dish, and waterfalls.

It was pretty cool to interview Andrea Jenkins, Lizz Winstead, Bill Lindeke, a Zamboni driver, and the Minnesota Twins organist…but maybe my favorite part is that I got to quote F. Scott Fitzgerald writing from St. Paul and signing off, “Yours in this hell-hole of life and time, the world.”
