I'm a writer and editor living in Minneapolis. I'm a digital producer at American Public Media, where I edit and write stories for the websites of The Current and Classical Minnesota Public Radio. I'm also a co-founder of The Tangential, and from 2007 to 2013 I was arts editor at the Twin Cities Daily Planet. I contribute as a freelance writer to publications including Artforum.com and Vita.mn, and I was a 2013 fellow in the USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Program. My books include Future Cities (co-edited with Becky Lang, Bascom Hill, 2013), Sociology for Dummies (Wiley, 2010), and Reconstructing the University (co-authored with David John Frank, Stanford University Press, 2006). I'm on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram.
